About PSBA-I
The PSBA Institute (PSBA-I) is an independent, 501(c)(3) organization based in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. Founded over forty years ago as the Pennsylvania Public Education Foundation, the organization updated its brand, mission and vision in 2024.
PSBA-I aims to foster an exceptional public education system for all of the commonwealth’s students through networking, information sharing and recognitions. While PSBA-I works closely with the Pennsylvania School Boards Association (PSBA) to strengthen public education, it does not rely on PSBA for any funding.
PSBA-I is led by a board of directors and operates four distinct centers:
While the work of each center varies, PSBA-I conducts research and publishes white papers; runs a fellows program; curates communications with stakeholders; presents the annual Innovation Awards and student leader scholarships; and hosts various symposiums.
The Center for AI in Education supports districts by monitoring trends, providing continuing education and advocating for a legal and regulatory framework as AI becomes more prevalent in education.
The Center for Leadership & Research is dedicated to fostering an exceptional public education system through continuing education and immersive experiences for public school district leaders.
The Center for Education Foundations prioritizes the needs of the commonwealth’s local education foundations through ongoing training opportunities and valuable information.
The Center for Charter Innovation identifies current trends and collects data related to charter schools in Pennsylvania.
